Pierre Cardin and Me

April 30, 2010 by whateverlolawantslolagets

As a connoisseur of modernism, I was thrilled to see that the fabulous Elle editor Kate Davidson Hudson included a rare Garland Collects Pierre Cardin pendant in her April 28th Elle.com blog entry on the designer’s new book, Pierre Cardin: 60 Years of Innovation. The necklace brought back so many memories for me when my mom discovered it in a Cleveland antique shop last year (such a jetsetter, that one). I was once his muse, you know. Well, who did you think the bubble dress was for?

The book comes out this spring from Assouline (look for me in the acknowledgements), while Garland Collects will continue to search the globe (Up next: Detroit! Sigh.) seeking out spectacular vintage finds for our vast collection. Check out www.GarlandCollects.com often as the selection of rare beauties is always changing.

But don’t forget: whatever Lola wants, Lola gets and the Pierre Cardin is mine.

Love and Licks,

Lola
