Back on the job

August 19, 2010 by whateverlolawantslolagets

I am so sorry to be out of touch for most of the summer, but things have been extremely busy over here at Garland Collection and Garland Collects. My mother has had no time to update my blog entries for me, as she has been busy designing new fine pieces for Garland Collection, shooting a soon-to-air segment for Extra! (I went to Bayside High with Mario), designing many Signature pieces for summer wedding gifts, and scouring the country to stock up on stunning vintage inventory to fill the overwhelming demand for Garland Collects.

I could not fulfill my Garland Collection official unofficial spokesperson duties myself because I decided to take a summer sabbatical from my post. OK, in full disclosure, my mother says that I was fired, but I simply do not see how an extended loan, which she may or may not call “theft”, of a few choice pairs of Garland Collects vintage Givenchy ear clips, a Collection diamond vine knuckle ring, and a Korda “Thief of Baghdad” necklace could possibly result in my dismissal. My stylist pulled them for me — just ask our publicists at The Collective. I wore them to World Cup events — I am a WAG, you know. My mother says that this is also not true, as it stands for “Wives and Girlfriends” of Futbol players, but hello? WAG? I don’t think so. Wink, wink Landon. (Who do you think that was for?)

So, I spent the rest of the summer dancing on yachts with rap stars and canoodling in The Hamptons in head-to-toe Garland loot. Whatever Lola wants Lola gets and those jewels were mine! But, last week I received word that so many new things were going on at Garland that I simply couldn’t leave anyone stranded sans my expertise any longer…and I was feeling like a traitor agreeing to be the Creative Director of resurrected Halston (I believe I explained this in my previous post) when the family business is going strong. So, I came back to my mom — she says with my “tail between my legs,” but I don’t even know what that means, and told her that I would be willing to return to my unofficial official post.

So, here is the latest:

Garland Collects has been scouring the globe for new inventory every day. Our latest finds include Hobe, Givenchy, ART, Whiting and Davis, Les Bernard, and Ciner, as well as Victorian, Art Deco, and 1950s – 80s unsigned beauties.

Garland Collection and Garland Collects vintage are also proud to announce that we will be taking part in Vogue’s “Fashion’s Night Out” at Ron Robinson|Fred Segal on the evening of September 10th on Melrose in Los Angeles! Invitation to be posted soon.

Wishing you a fabulous end of summer and wishing myself a giant welcome back to Garland.

Love and Licks,

Lola

xoxo
